Malicious ransomware on Mac devices and mobile phones

Malicious ransomware on Mac devices

No one is immune to electronic and ransomware threats. Malware owners published the first ransomware in Mac OSes in 2016. This program called KeRanger, the malicious ransomware that infiltrated an application called Transmission, Turn it on, it copies malicious files that remain secretly running in the background for three days until they go viral and encrypts files.

Thankfully, Apple's built-in anti-malware program, XProtect, released an update shortly after the ransomware detected and prevented it from penetrating users' systems. However, Mac ransomware is no longer theoretical.

Ransomware programs for mobile phones

it wasn't until the popular malware CryptoLocker and other similar families emerged in 2014 that malicious ransomware spread widely in mobile devices. Ransomware for mobile phones displays a message stating that the device has been locked due to illegal activity. The message states that the phone will be unlocked after paying the fine. Mobile ransomware is often sent via malicious apps, requiring you to boot the phone in safe mode and delete the compromised apps to regain access to your mobile phone.
