The 3CX browser extension provides click2call from any website or CRM system for 3CX PBX users.

With the 3CX extension, Click2Call functionality enables telephone numbers on any webpage or CRM system to be ‘hyperlinked’ allowing a simple click to initiate the call instead of copying and pasting. When setting up the extension, the extension options include the choice for the number to be passed to the 3CX Web Client or 3CX Desktop App for Windows. Additionally, included within the settings is an ‘Exclusion list’ where you can set specific URLs in which you do not want the numbers to be ‘hyperlinked’.  

Important: This extension is only for use with 3CX V18 and is not a standalone extension.

Installing the 3CX Browser Extension

As essential as our communications are, sometimes we want to free up our workspace and browser tabs without losing that crucial line of connection. This is where the 3CX Web Client Browser Extension steps in.

The Browser Extension for Chrome and Edge provides you with a mini pop out web client that gives you immediate access to make and receive calls, view status and quickly access other features of the Web Client.

Install the browser extension for Chrome or Edge.

Once you’ve added the extension to your browser, return to the Web Client and click “Activate your 3CX Extension for Chrome”.

You will now see the blue phone icon in the extensions bar in your browser. Click on the icon to open the Browser Extension pop out.

Top tip: In the top left-hand corner of the Web Client click “Allow Notifications” to enable desktop notifications!

And that’s it! Now you can quickly and easily make and receive calls from your desktop without needing to open the full Web Client.


Notes: The normal 3CX chrome extension updated to 3CX Click2call, a crm feature, this has now completely removed the chrome extension with the phone keyboard to answer and make calls etc.
